IAM Drives Security and Collaboration for Global Sales Team
Challenge
SalesTrainingCo*, a sales training organisation with a geographically dispersed team across four time zones, relied on a mix of legacy email solutions (IMAP and Hosted Microsoft Exchange) and LastPass for password management. This patchwork approach created security vulnerabilities and hindered collaboration.
Our Solution
JD Stride implemented a comprehensive Identity & Access Management (IAM) solution to modernise the client’s IT infrastructure and empower a secure and collaborative work environment:
- Cloud Migration: We successfully migrated 25 users to Google Workspace, a cloud-based suite of productivity tools including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. This move eliminated the need for on-premise email servers and simplified management.
- Centralised Cloud-based Directory: user identities and permissions are updated in a single location, saving time and reducing administrative errors. The cloud directory can easily handle growth and changes within the organisation and security policies are applied uniformly across all users and systems.
- Enhanced Security: Legacy password management with LastPass was replaced with an enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) application. This robust solution enforces multi-factor authentication (MFA) for an additional layer of security.
- Seamless SSO: Single Sign-On (SSO) was configured for all applications, allowing users to access various platforms with a single login. This eliminates the need to manage multiple passwords and reduces the risk of compromised credentials.
- Password Security: For applications that did not support SSO, our team ensured strong, unique passwords were set for all users without requiring them to remember them.
